A planetarium projection
in which you can only see the sky can be rather spectacular at first,
but after a while it is difficult to hold the public's excitement without
any additional visual elements. When the session is conducted with the
same back image, it ends up being somewhat repetitive. Conventional
slide projectors produce a rectangle light beam, which makes it hard
to juxtapose images upon, and video projectors emit so much light that
the sky underneath or the main projection can not be seen. To avoid
all of this, we have created the FLYPIC. This is an instrument that
can be used with one hand and allows you to overlay and focus a second
image without stealing the brilliance of the sky underneath.
Our experience has
proved that this tool is as important as the main central projector
and we are convinced that once you try it, you will not want to conduct
any more sessions without it.
Another advantage is that you will be able to juxtapose an image on
any constellation you wish, such as making a planet float or make a
space shuttle fly over a unique position in the universe.
The FLYPIC
projector carries a zoom that offers you yet more possibilities. Due
to its easy focusing, it adjusts very well to the projected constellations
or the desired picture size. It can also recreate simply and effectively
the speed or depth effects which relies upon the focal distance.
It also provides a light regulator, making it possible to adjust from
zero light to a full beam. This feature will allow you to make the image
you are showing suddenly appear or disappear at any given moment.
The possibility to move it with only one hand offers a very dynamic
effect that video projectors or light canyons can not obtain, and since
the planetarium technician can control its movement, the image can be
directed at any given point in the dome.
Due to the fact
that the public is leaning against the planetarium dome, there are very
funny images that can be used to play with the visitors. The only limit
is your imagination.
The FLYPIC
projector avoids having to use any cylindrical equipment to conduct
any session program. With the FLYPIC you can conduct a very interesting
and interactive session with a few constellations about global mythologies
and show the different cultures of our planet.
The FLYPIC
has a four slide cases that rotates, which makes it possible to choose
the image you want to use depending on the script or program.
We, in turn, stayed away from placing a slide carrousel that would oblige
the technician to conduct the session according to a pre-established
order of images.
Our slide holder has four fixed silhouettes between the individual slides
which can also be projected in the dome:
An arrow, a sun, a moon and a planet.
It is important to have in mind that not all groups of visitors are
the same, nor all the participants have the same level of understanding.
It is rather essential to have freedom to adjust the images and the
contents of your sessions according to the circumstances.
